Know instantly. React automatically. The Tapo T110 is TP-Link's smart contact sensor — a peel-and-stick wireless sensor that tells you the moment any door, window, cabinet, fridge, or drawer opens or closes, triggers smart automations through the Tapo ecosystem, and runs for two years on the included CR2032 battery without a second thought about power.
The contact sensor is one of the most versatile sensors in any smart home system — not because it's complex, but because it monitors the one physical event that covers almost all home awareness needs. Every room entry is a door opening. Every window security concern is a window opening. Every "did I leave the fridge open" is a door opening. Every cabinet, every drawer, every mailbox, every safe — all single events that a contact sensor at 15mm gap tolerance can detect reliably, with no camera privacy concern, no video storage required, and no subscription fee.
Smart Actions make the T110 significantly more useful than a simple alert device. Through the Tapo app, the T110 can be set as the condition that triggers any compatible Tapo device: open the front door in the evening and the hallway smart bulb turns on. Open the bathroom cabinet and the mirror light activates. Close the main door while leaving and the smart plug for non-essential appliances cuts power. Open the fridge for the third time in an hour and receive a notification. The automation layer transforms a contact sensor from a security alert device into the nervous system of a responsive home — and works even when the network is disconnected, because automations run locally on the Tapo Hub.
The Sub-1G Low-Power Wireless protocol is what gives the T110 its long range and long battery life. Sub-1GHz wireless travels further through walls and floors than 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, meaning sensors placed in remote rooms, garages, and outbuildings maintain reliable connection to the Tapo Hub without range extenders. The lower frequency uses significantly less power than Wi-Fi-based sensors — the mechanism behind the 2-year battery life on a single CR2032.
The 15mm gap tolerance means the sensor and magnet can be up to 15mm apart when the door or window is closed and still register as "closed" accurately — accommodating doors and windows with uneven frames, slight warp, or imprecise mounting without false open/closed readings.
Installation takes under five minutes: peel the 3M adhesive backing, align sensor and magnet on the door or window frame, press to mount. No screws, no drilling, no tools. Pair to the Tapo Hub via the Tapo app in seconds.
Requires Tapo Hub H100 (sold separately). Alexa compatible for voice queries ("Alexa, is the front door open?"). Compatible with all Tapo smart home devices for cross-device automations.
