One headset. Three platforms. Zero cables to re-route. The Logitech G ASTRO A50 Gen 5 is the wireless gaming headset that solves the multi-platform problem — the headset that handles Xbox, PS5, and PC simultaneously from a single base station, switching between them with a button press rather than a cable swap, disconnect, or power cycle. Fast Company named it an Innovation by Design Award Honoree for eliminating barriers such as platform selection and compatibility issues for multi-system gamers.
PLAYSYNC AUDIO is the technology that makes the A50 Gen 5's 3-system switching possible. Three USB-C connections on the base station — one for Xbox, one for PS5, one for PC — remain permanently connected. Switch between them with a single button press on the base station without re-routing cables, disconnecting dongles, or downloading additional software. The headset receives audio from whichever platform is selected via LIGHTSPEED wireless from the base, meaning the headset itself never needs to be repaired or reconnected when switching. This makes it the preferred solution for multi-platform gamers who have their consoles and PC connected to one or more monitors.
The Bluetooth connection adds a second simultaneous audio source on top of the LIGHTSPEED gaming audio. Connect a phone or tablet via Bluetooth and mix chat, music, or Discord audio directly into the headset alongside game audio — without leaving the game, without alt-tabbing, without a secondary device on the desk. The two audio streams blend in real time, with volume balance adjustable from the headset or the Logitech G app.
The PRO-G Graphene 40mm drivers are the same driver technology found in the A50 X — much more rigid than standard drivers, delivering a more balanced and more musical sound compared to the Gen 4, with extended frequency response across the 20Hz to 20kHz range. USB audio runs at 24-bit on PC for the highest audio resolution available over USB, and 16-bit on console. Dolby Atmos and Windows Sonic spatial audio are supported for compatible games.
The 48kHz high-resolution microphone delivers significantly more intelligible voice capture with extended bandwidth at the ends of the frequency spectrum — cleaner voice quality for party chat, Discord, and streaming than the 16kHz microphone of the Gen 4. The microphone includes flip-to-mute functionality and AI noise filtering. The Logitech G mobile app enables EQ adjustment, community EQ presets, and microphone tuning when the headset is connected to Bluetooth.
The charging base station replenishes the 24-hour battery whenever the headset is placed on it — eliminating the dead battery scenario that wired charging requires discipline to avoid. Drop it on the base after a session, pick it up charged. The LIGHTSPEED wireless protocol provides low-latency, stable connection from the base station throughout the gaming space.
Compatible with Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch via USB-C. Bluetooth for mobile and secondary device mixing. Fast Company Innovation by Design Award honoree 2025.
