A completely new shape. The Galaxy Z Fold8 is Samsung's boldest foldable yet — not an incremental upgrade to the Galaxy Z Fold7, but an entirely new form factor that changes what a foldable phone looks and feels like. Where every previous Galaxy Z Fold was a tall, portrait-ratio book, the Galaxy Z Fold8 is wide. Closed, it fits comfortably in one hand at 123.9mm tall — compact enough that the top of the cover screen is reachable with a thumb. Open, it reveals a 7.6-inch 4:3 display — the widescreen tablet ratio that makes the Galaxy Z Fold8 the most natural phone for video streaming, multitasking, and content creation in landscape orientation of any Galaxy foldable ever made.
The 7.6-inch inner LTPO OLED display at 1848×2448 resolution with 4:3 aspect ratio is the core of the Z Fold8 experience. The 4:3 ratio is the same ratio as an iPad — the format that makes split-screen multitasking, video calls, document editing, and landscape video feel natural rather than stretched. The Flex Titanium display technology is Samsung's significant advancement for 2026: by combining a titanium-alloy film with an enhanced titanium plate in the display substrate, the crease — the fold line visible in the centre of every folding display — is substantially reduced in visibility and tactile presence, making the Z Fold8's inner display the most crease-minimised Samsung has produced. The 5.5-inch cover LTPO OLED display at 1248×1972 resolution handles all one-handed use when closed, at a 10:16 ratio that is wide enough for comfortable typing and app use without unfolding.
Both displays run at 1–120Hz adaptive LTPO refresh rates. Samsung's Flex Titanium hinge mechanism makes opening and closing the Z Fold8 feel smoother and lighter than previous generation folds — the refined hinge geometry that requires less force to open while maintaining the structural rigidity that keeps the display flat when open.
The dual 50MP camera system covers the two focal lengths that most photography happens at. The 50MP f/1.8 main camera with Samsung's ProVisual Engine delivers the high-resolution primary photography — real-time visual noise reduction, sensor-specific pattern analysis for sharper night shots, and 8K video. The 50MP f/1.9 ultrawide handles architecture, landscape, interiors, and group shots at 120° field of view. Both selfie cameras — the 10MP f/2.2 cover camera and 10MP f/2.2 inner camera — allow the front-facing photography that content creators use for vlogs, streams, and social media. The dual-camera front setup, combined with the wide inner display, makes the Z Fold8 the most capable foldable content creation platform in Samsung's range. Nightography — Samsung's suite of AI-powered low-light enhancement — applies across all cameras.
The 4800mAh battery is the largest in any Samsung foldable to date, with 45W Super Fast Charging wired and 20W wireless charging. At 201 grams and 4.5mm when unfolded — 9.7mm folded — the Z Fold8 is the lightest and thinnest Samsung foldable at any size. Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. IP48 dust and water resistance. Up to 7 major Android OS upgrades.
