Hybrid ANC is the noise cancellation architecture that the C90 uses — and it is more effective than single-feed ANC designs. Standard ANC uses one outward-facing microphone per earcup to detect external sound and generate an opposing signal to cancel it. Hybrid ANC adds an inner microphone inside the earcup close to the ear, which monitors the sound actually reaching the listener after the outer cancellation has occurred and makes continuous corrections for any residual noise that the outer microphone's signal did not fully eliminate. The result is deeper, more consistent noise cancellation — particularly effective for the low-frequency continuous noise of air conditioning, aircraft cabins, traffic, and open-plan office environments that the C90 is most commonly used in.
Transparency Mode is the mode that makes the C90 genuinely practical for real-world use. When activated, Transparency Mode uses the outward-facing microphones to pass external sound through to the listener — allowing conversations, announcements, and environmental awareness without removing the headphones. The ability to switch between full ANC, Transparency, and no noise processing by pressing a control button means the C90 adapts to every environment without the friction of removing and replacing the headphones.
The 40mm dynamic drivers deliver the deep bass, balanced midrange, and clear high frequencies that the C90's over-ear form factor is designed to showcase — the larger driver size that over-ear headphones provide over on-ear and in-ear alternatives, producing a wider, more spacious soundstage with more physical bass presence. The 600mAh high-capacity battery provides up to 60 hours of continuous playback with ANC off — enough for most of a working week from a single charge — and 35 hours with ANC actively running.
