From dark gloss to pure heat. The DualSense Wireless Controller in Techno Red is the most intense colourway in Sony's Hyperpop Collection — a controller that builds from deep, inky black to vivid neon red in a seamless gloss gradient that doesn't fade, doesn't hold back, and doesn't apologise for being the loudest thing in the room. This colour builds. Make your next play at full volume.
The Hyperpop Collection launched in March 2026 as Sony's most visually ambitious DualSense drop to date, developed by the CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) team at Sony and inspired by the glow of RGB lighting in modern gaming setups. Techno Red is the first colourway in the collection that Sony revealed — the anchor of the Hyperpop line and the one that established the gradient aesthetic that defines all three. The high-gloss finish intensifies the red at full saturation, and under direct light the gradient reads as an almost luminescent edge-to-edge shift from void black to electric crimson.
The hardware is the complete DualSense — the full PS5 controller experience in a finish that stands apart from every colourway Sony has released before the Hyperpop Collection. Haptic feedback through dual actuators delivers precise, directional vibrations that bring the physical sensation of game environments into the controller — the crack of an impact, the texture of a surface, the resistance of a mechanism, the hum of an engine — in supported PS5 titles. The feedback is authored per-game by developers and varies meaningfully between titles.
Adaptive triggers on L2 and R2 change their resistance in real time based on in-game context — from the variable tension of a bowstring at different draw lengths, to the progressive engagement of a vehicle's brakes, to the snap of a hair-trigger releasing. The physical experience of the trigger changes with every interaction that a developer has mapped to it. The built-in microphone enables team voice chat without a headset, with a dedicated mute button for instant silence. The 3.5mm headset jack remains available for wired audio accessories.
Compatible with PS5, PC, Mac, and mobile including Apple devices. USB-C charging via the cable supplied with the PS5 console. Techno Red sits alongside Remix Green and Rhythm Blue in the Hyperpop Collection — all three colourways share identical hardware, with the gradient colour story as the only distinction between them.
