A football you build. A stadium hidden inside it. The LEGO Editions Football (43019) is the 1,498-piece building set that produces an almost 1:1 replica of the size 5 football used in official matches — 22cm in diameter, the same as a real ball, built entirely from LEGO bricks using LEGO Technic structural elements to achieve the spherical shape that standard LEGO geometry cannot produce on its own. Then, when the build is complete, you press the button and it opens to reveal a secret it keeps hidden: a celebration scene inside a mini football stadium, with tiny player figures, a golden trophy at the centre, fireworks that move up and down behind the podium, and big screens lighting up the interior. A ball on the outside. A stadium on the inside.
The exterior of the ball uses six decorative discs — 10×10 dish elements with printed graphics — to reproduce the classic football panel design at full size. The black-and-white panel pattern that defines the football's silhouette is achieved at scale through the curved LEGO brick geometry, with the LEGO Technic framework providing the internal rigidity that makes a round LEGO object structurally stable. Two stickers — one indicating the actual size of the ball, one reading "Do not actually kick" — are the set's self-aware design detail that makes it immediately a conversation piece.
The interior stadium is the build-within-a-build. Press the button on the side of the ball and the panels open to reveal a micro football stadium scene — 11 nanofigures with yellow printed heads populate the field and the celebrating position on the podium, a miniature golden trophy sits at the centre, and the fireworks mechanism allows the rockets behind the podium to be moved upward for display or stowed inside when the ball is closed. The stadium has big screens — small printed tile elements that represent the scoreboards and screens that define the real stadium experience. Every detail is visible only when the ball is opened, making the reveal a continuing feature of displaying the set.
Released March 1, 2026, as part of the inaugural LEGO Editions line — LEGO's sports-inspired and collectible building theme for ages 10 and above. The LEGO Builder app supports the build with digital instructions and progress tracking. The black display base is included and lifts the ball off any surface for display presentation.
